It has been a little rainy here but I don’t mean that literally…  I’m talking about our time with the new ministry we have joined.  In July we had the opportunity to join a ministry here in our town, called the Erma Fennell Foundation, after the founder passed away.  We had known for a while that something new was coming, so when we were given this opportunity we took it.  We moved into a house on site and have been serving with them for the past few months.  Since then, I know I have not said much about it, not sure why.  Maybe it’s because I was not sure what to say.  More than anything we have been getting our feet wet, seeing what this ministry does and getting to know the others that serve here.  Out of the 8 of us that are serving in the foundation, 5 of us our new, including the directors.  So honestly, we have been getting to know each other.

I think we have been given a very rare opportunity.  We get to bring new vision and life into a ministry that has already been established.  We have property, places to live, a beautiful visitors center to host groups, many US and Canadian church contacts and supporters, strong connections with different pastors and churches in our area, and most important the desire to be a Christ centered ministry with integrity that trains and equips people in our community.  Saul has spent the last few months working on a building project.   Money was donated to build a new building for a church in the next town, so him and Victor (who also serves here) have been working on that.  A few weeks ago they finished and the church held a special dedication service.  So many people showed up that many of us had to sit or stand outside! In January, we will start hosting groups and Saul will lead the building projects.   He also goes on outreach twice  a week where he gets to lead worship and teach. I have been involved  with a few things here and there.  I helped with some sewing projects and have gone on some visits to an old folks centre and a ladies rehab.  I am a Mom before I’m a missionary, so I give the time I can, but truthfully most of my time is at home.  I’m not sure yet exactly what my role is, for now I help when and where I can and offer (maybe to0 many, hee hee) thoughts, ideas, suggestions and questions. We are both really enjoying our time here.  We are all seeking God to see what He has for the future of this ministry, it’s pretty exciting!    We (the foundation and us personally) recently took a leap of faith and put a down-payment on some land that went up for sale across the street from us.  We have lots of dreams for the future that involve training men and women in different trades and skills to help them make a living and bring them out of poverty.  We will need the land to make these dreams a reality, so we are trusting God to provide.  So that’s where we are at right now, missions wise.  Feet wet and jumping in!
