Decoupage (or découpage) is the art of decorating an object by gluing colored paper cutouts onto it, according to wikipedia anyways, just in case you were wondering…. Anyways I found a cute little bench at globos to put in the kids room. I think it was actually a stepping stool for a shuttle van, based on the sicker that was no the top. Problem was, that when I took off the sticker, the paint came off too. Dang it. So I wanted to do something to cover that spot.
I decided to try decoupaging some paper doilies on to it. It was really easy.
First I tried painting the modge podge onto each doily, but then my impatience kicked in and I decided to paint the bench and then stuck it on. Much faster.
Then I smoothed it out with my fingers to get out all the air.
I repeated the same process with each doily.
I finished it off with a nice thick coat of modge podeg over the entire top.
That was it. It only took about 10 minutes and now no one can see the chipped paint.

Someday hopefully soon I’ll do a little room tour of the kids room…. maybe. For now, here’s a glimpse of the other side of the room.
Just keeping it real…
